Refuge on Lake Constance

Hotel Hirschen Horn

Anyone who knows the Höri peninsula is aware of its special magic: sparkling water, tranquil bays and protected nature. Here, at the tip of this peninsula, lies the Hirschen Horn wellness hotel - a hotel with a long history, now run by the seventh generation of the Amann family.

You can feel the special atmosphere as soon as you enter the hotel. Two books by bestselling author Gaby Hauptmann, who couldn't put it better, are available at reception: "There are houses that breathe history. When you go inside, you can't help but feel that there is something there." She's right - I also devoured her novels about the Hirschen Horn and immediately felt drawn into this world.

During a tour of the house with Mr. Amann Junior, the doors to over 200 years of history open up to me. He tells me anecdotes and shows me the main house, Villa Maria and Villa Nina, which is located right next to the nature reserve. A little later, I meet the senior manager at the bar, who is chatting with his guests with palpable pleasure - a picture of hospitality in action.

The wellness retreat impresses with its 1,000 m² spa area: an infinity pool with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, Kneipp pools, relaxation zones and treatment rooms create places to switch off. The extensive island garden offers a 270-degree panoramic view of the Untersee - a view that instantly puts you at peace.

Culinary delights also have their place here. The restaurants serve creative gourmet cuisine that will delight vegetarians, fish and meat lovers alike. Colorful music evenings under the stars, candlelight dinners and cultural events complete the offer.

And then there is the surrounding area: Höri with the Schiener Berg - an Eldorado for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. Those seeking freedom will find apartments and vacation apartments for independent vacations at the Boardinghouse Bodensee, 800 meters away.

At the end of my visit, the hostess, Mrs. Amann, said goodbye to me personally - warmly, attentively, like everything in the house!

For me, the Hirschen Horn is a refuge that combines history, genuine hospitality and modern comfort in a way that is rarely found. A real insider tip on Lake Constance.
