In the middle of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, the andbeyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge opened its doors in 2022 - or should we say its tents? The lodge sees itself as a luxurious "tented camp" with accommodation made of canvas, banana fibers and local hardwoods that seem to float above the landscape.

As with all anbeyond projects, Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge places great emphasis on sustainability. Around 80 percent of the energy required is generated from solar power, innovative hot water systems are used and new technologies are used to measure the groundwater level in order to prevent the borehole from exceeding its capacity. The 29 luxury accommodations with large bathrooms, panoramic terraces with private pools and cosy sitting, dining and sleeping areas guarantee that the highest levels of luxury and comfort are not neglected in the face of so much sustainability.
