Hotel Schloss Mönchstein celebrates its anniversary - and 30 million euros in investments

A castle with a vision: Exactly 20 years ago, the German-Swiss entrepreneur Dr. Hans-Peter Wild took over the historic Hotel Schloss Mönchstein*s in Salzburg. Since then, he has invested around 30 million euros in its modernization and expansion with passion, the courage to innovate and a clear vision - turning the property into one of the most exclusive hotel addresses in the German-speaking world.

Where history meets high-end comfort

The challenge? To preserve the special charm of the historic castle - and create modern luxury at the same time. Step by step, the listed property was brought up to the highest level: from extensive room renovations to the 20-metre-long infinity pool and the architecturally impressive glass dome above the gourmet restaurant "The Glass Garden".

Gourmet, glamor and glass dome

Particularly impressive: the glass dome built in 2018, which covers the restaurant and bar like a modern jewel. 170 m² of special curved glass now span one of the most impressive culinary backdrops in Salzburg - with a view of the city, Schlosspark and Mönchsberg. Here, classic splendor is combined with contemporary lightness, which is also reflected in the excellent cuisine.

Underground car park with far-reaching views

The latest project - the new underground car park with 48 parking spaces and 10 e-charging stations - was also completed in just six months. It ensures comfortable arrival and direct access to the hotel for guests.

On the 20th anniversary, Dr. Hans-Peter Wild draws a clear conclusion: "I don't regret a single cent invested."
