Where the journey begins...
A journey to inner peace and strength: the Posthotel Achenkirch on Lake Achensee
When the Tyrolean alpenglow bathes the mountains in golden, red and amber hues, a special time of year begins at the Posthotel Achenkirch. Behind hotels with soul are people with intuition, compass and vision - and this 5-star retreat on Lake Achensee is just such a place. The Reiter family has been running the hotel with passion and a pioneering spirit for over a hundred years: A historic post office was transformed into one of the first wellness hotels in Tyrol. Today, the adults-only resort combines Far Eastern practices such as TCM and Ayurveda with the autumnal tranquillity and power of the Alps.
The 142 rooms and suites combine warm wood notes with soft, earthy colors in a timeless country house interior - perfect for cozy hours when the clear mountain air outside smells of autumn. Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong with Shaolin Master Liang provide inner balance, while tennis courts, the 9-hole golf course and the Lipizzaner riding stable invite you to exercise in the fresh, cool autumn air.
The Posthotel is also the first and so far only hotel in Austria to offer innovative biohacking treatments with an in-house coach to gently slow down the ageing process. At the end of September, a new, stylishly minimalist Longevity Lab will also open - a room where state-of-the-art technology meets purist aesthetics. Here, guests can work individually on their vitality, regeneration and performance in an elegant, clear atmosphere.
The 7,000 square meter wellness portfolio shows all its magic, especially in autumn: The Far East-inspired sauna and meditation rooms of the "Sunken Temple", the two-part Yin-Yang outdoor pool or the Atrium Spa with Indian Ayurveda treatments and Austria's first original Japanese Head Spa. Host Karl C. Reiter invites his guests to embark on a journey to the self during the quiet season - in a place where body and mind can flow in harmonious balance.
