Alpine luxury vacation at five-star level meets traditional alpine hut charm

Idyllic chalet vacation meets all the amenities of an alpine luxury hotel: the Bergdorf Prechtlgut in Wagrain is a retreat with the motto "Vacation like back then - with the luxury of today". In the eight exclusive chalet units, guests feel like they are in their own alpine hut in the mountains thanks to the open fireplace and traditional design with natural materials such as loden, linen and old wood. In addition to complete privacy, there is a private Almspa including sauna with steam and infrared function, free-standing relaxation tub, hot tub on the terrace and cozy corner as well as a natural bathing pond and yoga sessions for all guests, at the time of their choice and without fixed appointments. The fully equipped Swiss stone pine kitchen and the Prechtlstadl restaurant, which is open daily, ensure individual moments of indulgence - all à la carte dishes can also be served undisturbed in the chalets.

Location
With its location in the heart of Salzburger Land, in idyllic Wagrain, the Prechtlgut mountain village covers an area of 9,000 square meters and is surrounded by a majestic mountain landscape and right next to the Grafenbergbahn cable car. In winter, guests have direct access to the renowned Snow Space Salzburg with almost 210 kilometers of slopes and 70 ski lifts, while in summer there are over 230 km of marked hiking trails to glistening mountain lakes and across green alpine meadows, as well as three golf courses, numerous swimming pools and bike trails for active holidaymakers to discover. Arriving by car is recommended, but after parking in the exclusive underground garage, a virtually car-free vacation awaits. Many excursion destinations can be easily reached from the mountain village of Prechtlgut both in winter and summer on foot or using the well-organized public transport system.

History
Even though the Prechtlgut mountain village looks as if it has been around for generations thanks to its traditional architecture and the use of old wood, some of which is centuries old, the idea for the chalet village with the philosophy "Vacation like back then - with the luxury of today" was only born in 2017. On 1 December 2018, the host couple Manuel Aster and Carina welcomed the first guests to their four luxurious chalets and four lodges for two to six people for a five-star vacation experience in complete privacy. Since 2020, two donkeys named Linda and Peppo have also been part of the Prechtlgut family. The Prechtlstadl restaurant has also been further expanded: A gourmet wine lounge, an outdoor lounge terrace and a separate panorama parlor for celebrations have been adding to the culinary offering since 2022. The reception has also been given a new design. The last expansion of the Bergdorf Prechtlgut in 2023 was the new Pool Luxury Lodge with 150 square meters of living space and a 14 by 4 meter private pool that can be heated all year round.

Eight chalets and lodges
The four luxurious chalets and lodges, each measuring 85 to 150 square meters, are characterized by high-quality furnishings and loving details, but above all by a vacation experience in complete privacy. Light-flooded rooms and natural materials such as loden, linen, old wood and Swiss stone pine create a feeling of warmth and security. The open fireplace and the private Almspa in every chalet and lodge create a cozy atmosphere with your loved ones. Furthermore, a fully equipped Swiss stone pine kitchen with minibar and Jura coffee machine invites you to cook. Both the well thought-out design and the attentive service at five-star level, from the small culinary delicacies in the chalet to housekeeping and private wellness treatments in your own four walls, ensure that guests can enjoy their own personal piece of Alpine idyll in the Bergdorf Prechtlgut completely undisturbed.

Prechtlstadl restaurant and indulgence in the chalet
Guests at the Bergdorf Prechtlgut enjoy culinary delights in complete freedom. The gourmet breakfast is served in the chalet at the time of your choice and can be put together individually from regional delicacies. The focus is always on high-quality local products, from homemade jams and honey from local beekeepers to bread from the local bakery and cheese from organic farmers in the valley. Breakfast orders can be conveniently placed via an app and your own table is laid in an enjoyable and unobtrusive way, so that you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast in your pyjamas.

In the evening, there are several options to choose from, depending on what you fancy. You can cook for yourself in the fully equipped kitchen whenever you get hungry. If you don't want to do it yourself, pay a visit to the Prechtlstadl restaurant in the chalet village. Traditional Austrian cuisine is served here daily from 12 to 21:30 in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. In good weather, you can sit outside on the lounge terrace and enjoy the sunshine and the mountain panorama. Wine lovers will find their place in the wine lounge and can sample an exquisite selection of almost 120 Austrian and international wines. Finally, the Panoramastüberl provides the perfect setting for all kinds of celebrations and can also be used for seminars and meetings thanks to its own sound system and a large flat screen with HDMI connection.

As a special highlight, all à la carte specialties from the Prechtlstadl can also be delivered to your own chalet. This means that guests who value absolute privacy on their chalet vacation do not have to leave their cozy four walls and can still enjoy the restaurant's authentic Austrian cuisine. Here, too, orders are conveniently placed via the app and the restaurant team delivers all dishes to the chalets by 5:30 pm. All courses can be individually chilled or kept warm to ensure dinner is served at the desired time. The dining experience is rounded off with wine from the private wine fridge.

December 2024 also saw the opening of Aster's Mountainclub in the adjacent Snow Space Salzburg ski area. Three stylish themed bars, a breathtaking view over the Salzburg mountains and a good dose of lifestyle moments now await at the middle station of the Grafenbergexpress in Wagrain. The cliché of a traditional ski hut has been completely reinterpreted and the modern and luxurious event location at an altitude of 1,400 meters boasts a panoramic lounge and a convertible roof, among other things. There are also numerous events during the ski season in cooperation with various partners.

Private alpine spa and mindful time-out
At Bergdorf Prechtlgut, your own chalet or lodge is always a private wellness oasis made of natural stone and old wood. Each Almspa has a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna and an infrared cabin, a hot tub on the terrace, a free-standing relaxation tub, a rainforest shower, a cozy relaxation area and a panoramic terrace. The Pool Luxury Lodge also has a private pool measuring 14 by 4 meters, which is heated all year round. Guests can also refresh themselves in the crystal-clear water of the natural pond in the chalet village. The whole experience is rounded off with exclusive spa treatments in your own four chalet walls: From soothing massages and guided yoga sessions to manicures, all offers can be booked at the time of your choice.

A stay at Bergdorf Prechtlgut also goes beyond a classic wellness vacation: if you want to do something good for your mind as well as your body, a personal mindfulness coaching session will not only teach you what it means to live in the moment and find inner peace, but also how to approach everyday life more mindfully in the future. Owner Carina is a trained health psychologist and expert in mindfulness practices and takes interested guests individually by the hand, guiding them through meditations and teaching techniques and practices so that they can go through life with a deeper understanding and more mindfulness after their vacation. In combination with the private Almspa and the individual treatments without appointment pressure, an undisturbed feel-good atmosphere is created in which guests can enjoy their mindful wellness break with their loved ones at their own pace.
