Faster, higher, further
The new Global 7500 private jet from Vistajet is equipped with record-breaking technology. With a speed of Mach 0.925, it shortens flight times by up to 21 percent and can cover routes such as the one from Singapore to San Francisco non-stop. Kiki Baron tried out the dream plane on her way to Dubai.
Feelings of happiness, heart palpitations, tingling in my stomach - all of these run through my body and mind at once as I climb the short flight of stairs to the Global 7500. The skin of the elegant private jet glistens silvery in the morning mist of the Erdinger Moos. With its wingspan of 31 meters, it stands ready among the big ones at Munich Airport. This beautiful aircraft does not fit in the parking lot for private aircraft. Ahead of us - a total of four guests, two pilots and two cabin hostesses - lies the route to Dubai. 2,860 miles, the equivalent of 4,960 kilometers. According to the pilot, depending on the traffic over the Gulf state, we will land after about five hours, which is about one and a half hours less than commercial flights. The Global 7500, an aircraft of the first and only global business aviation company VistaJet, could even lift us non-stop to Bali. Hence the suffix 7500, which stands for feasible non-stop miles.
With all the excitement, you don't even know where to sit at first. There are swivel and folding seats for a maximum of 14 guests, covered in butter-soft Italian leather. On our flight, four of them are positioned so that you can sit opposite each other. A double bed is set up in a separate suite and bathroom, decorated with pyjamas, cashmere socks and plenty of Dr. Sebagh cosmetics. But first things first: feet up only after arrival at the Mandarin Oriental Dubai. However, we rehearse stretching out on the cozy down bed for Instagram. There's WiFi on the plane on request, so you can post straight away. Workaholics will be delighted with the fast internet connections that allow video conferencing and live streaming. We, on the other hand, sip champagne and enjoy the view of the Alps through the large windows. The mountains seem even more miniature than on "normal" flights. A glance at the HD screen confirms this. Instead of flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters, we are almost half a kilometer higher. As a result, the flight is faster and there is no turbulence along the entire route. The Global 7500, which is also extremely quiet, seems to lie motionless in the air. And the scenery outside passes by like a slow-motion video. We whizz through the sky at almost 1,000 kilometers per hour.

The two cabin hostesses, trained by the British Butler Institute, set white linen for the four-course dinner. With Christofle china and silver cutlery on a long figured table so that the four of us can dine together at the table. Dishes can be chosen when booking. We opted for lamb chops for the main course. They are impeccable. There is a choice of two white and two red wines to accompany each. VistaJet tests which top-class wines retain their taste and quality when served in the air on special wine flights. If there's one saying that fits this all-round pleasure, it's this: time flies. The colorful glittering world of Dubai at night stretches out below us. After exactly five hours and 18 minutes, we touch down. Two Rolls-Royce Phantoms are already waiting to take us to the white marble private terminal. We are the only passengers that evening. The check-in process, including the Covid passport check, goes quickly.
Another coffee in the lounge? I notice that I'm actually really chipper and that drinking two or three glasses of red wine during the flight had virtually no effect. This is due to the 100 percent fresh air in the Global 7500. We all know that from walks at home to clear our heads. A cappuccino works anyway. Fortunately, because otherwise I would have missed the final highlight. My likeness is staring back at me on the frothy milk, my profile picture from LinkedIn. The private jet flight will be etched in my long-term memory, and the fun cappuccino even more so. Let's see if the high hospitality department picks up on this gag. All about membership, costs,
