Cruise-Report: Regent Seven Seas Explorer (2/6)
Day 2 - la vita es bella: We arrive in Naples just in time for sunrise. The perfect time for cappuccino-soaked butter croissants on our own balcony and a first glimpse of the city as it wakes up...
Screeching seagulls, rattling Vespas, the everyday chaos in the harbor - from our suite high up on deck 8, it all seems to be dipped in gold and wrapped in soft absorbent cotton ... Pompei? The Amalfi Coast? Or would you prefer Capri? For today, the excursion program has several destinations of longing in store - and completely free of charge. Almost all land excursions are already included in the travel price. We have opted for Capri and enjoy a perfectly organized late summer day on the island before we reach our ship again in the early evening. Still in a Bella Italia mood, we are drawn to the terrace of the Sette Mari restaurant immediately after casting off, where delicious antipasti, pasta, fish and meat dishes are on offer today - and on all other days of the trip. On the port side, Vesuvius greets us with a delicate cloud of smoke. On the starboard side, the lights are just coming on in Capri. The Regent Seven Seas Explorer sets course for the Strait of Messina. And we have just discovered this melt-in-the-mouth Gorgonzola on the cheese trolley ...
