Cuba, here we come!
From the island of the arch-enemy to the hottest cruise destination in the Caribbean: since the first American cruise liner docked in Havana in May 2016, Cuba's ports have been buzzing with activity.
So if you want to experience a little authentic island flair, you'd better hurry. With whom? When? And where exactly? Voilà, the Cuba routes of selected shipping companies:
Star Clippers is setting sail off Cuba's coast several times this winter, sailing from Havana to the offshore islands of Cay Largo and Cayo Rico, among others.
Hapag Lloyd celebrates the premiere of its flagship, the MS Europa, in the port of Maria La Gorda in December 2017.
The mid-range MS Berlin from FTI Cruises offers two different itineraries from/to Havana with additional stops in Jamaica or Mexico in winter.
Those who would prefer to get to know Cuba on a short visit are in good hands with Norwegian Cruise Line. The premium all-inclusive cruise line offers more than 50 four-day voyages to Cuba from Miami. No less frequently, the Empress of the Sea from Royal Caribbean will cruise off the island. The trips with the megaliner start and end in Tampa - ideal for combining the island experience with a Florida vacation. MSC Cruises has two ships, the Opera and the Seaside, stationed in Cuba and the Caribbean all year round. Three more are to follow in the 2018/19 season. Oceania Cruises has also greatly expanded its Cuba offer: A total of 20 routes are planned from fall 2017 to spring 2018 with the ships Sirena, Insignia and Regatta. The latest newcomer to Cuba is the Veendam from Holland America Line, which will be sailing on 7-, 11- and 12-day dream trips to Havana and Cienfuegos from this December.
Ready for the Caribbean island? Then let's go, the offer has never been greater!
