Airbus A330neo maiden flight
The aircraft manufacturer Airbus celebrated another premiere on October 19:
The modernized A330neo long-haul jet has completed its first test flight. The aircraft took off from Toulouse Airport in the south of France this morning, as Connoisseur Circle was able to see for itself. Further test flights are now scheduled. It is a new version of the A330 passenger aircraft, which is more than 20 years old. Reduced fuel consumption should make the aircraft even more attractive in the competition with its US arch-rival Boeing. The jet is intended as a smaller alternative to the A350 wide-body aircraft and is a challenge to the latest version of Boeing's 787. With a take-off weight increased by four percent to 251 tons, the A330neo can be used on longer routes, explained Airbus President for the civil aircraft division, Fabrice Bregier. This could result in an additional range of 700 nautical miles. The first aircraft of this type will be delivered to the Portuguese airline TAP in summer 2018.
