After years of absence, there is now a flight connection from Salzburg to Zurich again since the summer timetable. A Dash 8 Q300 operated by Vorarlberg-based Intersky flies to Switzerland up to three times a day. Business and tourism had expressed a strong desire for the route.

Internet check-in at
home was quick and uncomplicated. But the surprise at the gate was that the booking did not appear. No problem for this flight with only seven passengers: The check-in took place at the gate. But what would happen if the plane was full and you couldn't get on? Intersky emphasized that Salzburg was a new station that had only opened a few days ago and that adjustments would be necessary at the beginning.

Be that as
it may. Intersky is investing enormously, expanding its fleet and route network. And the number of employees is increasing. On this flight, for example, two charming ladies were there for the guests because a new flight attendant was being trained. The airline is one of the last private regional airlines in Europe. And the atmosphere is very familiar. As the departure to Zurich is delayed due to congestion at the Swiss airport, the captain comes into the cabin in person and explains the situation in a very relaxed manner, a little chat on the side.

The bright seats
give the cabin a modern look, the seat pitch is extremely comfortable and generous. The ladies serve free drinks and snacks, but unfortunately there are no newspapers on this flight because none were delivered. This is because Intersky normally offers newspapers and magazines.

New also to Graz

Zurich - Graz and Karlsruhe - Hamburg are also new additions to the route network. There are also plans to operate the new ATR72-600, Intersky's flagship aircraft, on the Salzburg route, as it also flies to Graz. The second aircraft of this type was put into service on April 9.

Meanwhile, the 50-seater Dash 8Q300 is humming its way west. We recommend the left row of seats on the way to Zurich, the view of the Alps is always an experience. The landing in Zurich was only slightly delayed.

Incidentally, the return flight left on time again. The boarding pass we had printed out at home was also accepted. Newspapers were on board, the flight attendant was again in a good mood and courteous. And of course a window seat on the right-hand side. A strong tailwind ensured a more than punctual landing.

We recommend Intersky due to the ideal connections but also the familiar and professional service at a good price-performance ratio. In addition, talks are underway regarding a cooperation with Swiss International Air Lines for the Zurich flights. And the minor teething troubles of a new route should soon be resolved.
