TAM improves cabin product from 2012
TAM Brazilian Airlines will begin to completely renew its cabin product next year with the delivery of a fifth Boeing 777-300ER. In all three classes - First/Business and Economy - passengers can expect new standards. For example, seats that recline completely into a flat bed. "We will take delivery of four new 777s next year and another four by 2014," TAM President Libano Miranda Barroso told Hofmann's recommendations at the Latin American Airlines Conference in Rio de Janeiro. "The new aircraft will be used on our routes to North America and Europe. Our Airbus A330 aircraft will also be successively converted." TAM, a member of the Star Alliance, is in the process of merging with Chilean airline LAN. Together, the airlines will then be "one of the largest in the world". Which alliance this group will then belong to will be decided in the second half of 2012. TAM serves Frankfurt with Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro non-stop, among others.
