Airbus presented its new Airspace by Airbus brand concept for aircraft
aircraft cabins on March 23 in London. With a new philosophy - which truly brings space-feelings - Airbus wants to combine the well-being of passengers with operational efficiency for airline customers.

Airspace stands for innovation and design at the highest level and is intended to provide a high-quality, flexible canvas as a backdrop for the airlines' own brands. Airbus is also introducing the new cabin for the future A330neo, which embodies the Airspace by Airbus concept and is modeled on its sister model, the new A350 XWB currently in service with Finnair and Qatar Airways, for example.

The cabin has always played a key role at Airbus. Thanks to the excellent feedback from passengers on the A350 XWB and the application of A350 cabin technology and features to the A330neo, we are able to optimally implement our cabin design principles with our new Airspace by Airbus brand, explained Kiran Rao at the event. The Airbus Executive Vice President of Strategy and Marketing added that the new A330neo is the precursor for this brand, which together with the A350 XWB will form a new family of Airbus cabins. These will provide airlines with inspiration for a next-generation personal flying experience for their passengers, while also identifying opportunities to optimize the yield space on the aircraft.

Airspace cabins are designed to be more relaxing, inspiring, attractive and functional and to provide a unique travel experience. The product is divided into the dimensions of comfort, ambience, service and design. Passengers will find larger overhead stowage compartments above the seats. There will also be spacious and modern on-board toilets, wider seats and aisles and more free space under the seats.

Characteristic design features will be a unifying element of all Airspace cabins. Examples include the latest LED lighting technology for individual lighting moods, clean, straight lines and shapes, clear surfaces and a customizable entrance area. Together, this results in an aesthetically pleasing design that not only conveys a sense of space, but is also intended to create a real feeling of spaciousness, according to Airbus.
