SWISS new Business and Senator Lounge in Zurich
Since July 2, the wait for the new SWISS lounges in Terminal A at Zurich Airport is over.
For many months during the renovation of the important Business and Senator Lounge in this area of the terminal, passengers had to move to other areas if they wanted to visit one of the coveted seats.
But the wait was worth it. The newly designed Lounge Center A is the place to go for passengers, especially on short and medium-haul flights. A modern zone concept with different retreat options offers more opportunities to work or relax undisturbed. The former bar in the upper area of the lounge has been abolished in favor of a spacious quiet zone with relaxation loungers. There are also five spacious showers in the lounge.
The Kullinarium has been deliberately designed to resemble a market hall, dominated by a large bistro area in both the Business and Senator Lounge, including a front cooking zone. The "SWISS Alpenstübli", located in the Business Class area, should also prove ideal for meetings - including allergy-friendly hay wallpaper.
Unusually, the Senator area with 198 seats and 720 m2 is larger than the Business Class area with 162 seats and 560 m2. This is probably due to the high proportion of frequent flyers with Senator status in the Zurich market.
The infrastructure on the ground is particularly important on short-haul flights, which often only last 45 to 90 minutes within Europe, as the flight often only takes up the shortest part of the journey. Positive services, be it state-of-the-art lounges or fast, clear routes including short waiting times at security checks, are crucial to the success of an airline and an airport.
Lounge Center A is open daily from 5:30 am to 10:30 pm. Up to 2000 guests are expected daily.
