Peninsula Tokyo - A good address
Admittedly. Tokyo is not necessarily a cheap destination. But it is worth a visit. And the upscale hotels come at a price. But since many Connoisseur Circle readers already have experience with the elite Peninsula in Hong Kong, or also in Bangkok, Manila etc., we will briefly report on the Peninsula Tokyo. This was opened in September 2007 and is one of the newest luxury hotels in the Japanese capital. In line with the hotel chain's motto, only hotels at top addresses in the respective metropolis are built. Incidentally, the first Peninsula in Europe is currently being built in Paris. The Peninsula Tokyo is located in the heart of the Marunouchi business district, just a few minutes' walk from the Ginza shopping area. The transfer to Narita Airport takes 45 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic. After the earthquake and tsunami disaster, which shook the country to the core, everyday life in Tokyo has largely returned. "Our capacity utilization fell by 90% at the time. Today, we are once again recording satisfactory figures. But people have also changed. I think the focus is back on enjoying life," says Mark Kobayashi, Peninsula Regional Director of Communications, Japan, in an interview with Connoisseur Circle in Tokyo these days. And Mark should know. He knows the luxury hotel and its clientele very well. It's a good sign that business people have been coming to Japan for a long time anyway, but tourists are also returning. And the connoisseurs among them enjoy being pampered by the outstanding comfort of the guest rooms (starting from 51 square meters) in the luxury hotel. And that's not all - the perfect service at the Peninsula Tokyo is worth the trip alone. Japan deserves tourists to come back again and again. Today more than ever.
