Lufthansa Senator Lounge London Heathrow

If you have to change planes in London with one of the Star Alliance airlines - such as Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa or United Airlines - you will do so in "The Queen's Terminal", the new Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport. It has been in operation since June 4, 2014 and represents a huge improvement in quality at the hectic airport. And it is here that Lufthansa has set up its largest lounge outside Germany, covering 1,600 square meters. It is divided into Business Class and a separate area for frequent flyer Senator status.

The latter area is accessible via the rear end of the Business Class Lounge, through an automatic door. During our visit, we noticed that the lounge on the second floor, also signposted as A1 in the terminal, is ideally located if you are flying onwards within Europe, for example. However, many long-haul flights depart from the second part of the terminal, so the distances are longer.

The furnishings in the Senator Lounge are reminiscent of those in Frankfurt. Fast Internet and state-of-the-art furnishings are obligatory. What stands out positively is the tasty food - a noticeable difference to the Lufthansa counterparts in Frankfurt, for example. This is due to the fact that the Austrian caterer Do&Co supplies the Lufthansa Lounge in London. The food, which caters to both international and British palates, is always served fresh and in an appropriate selection. Desserts and cakes are also of remarkable quality, and the wine selection is equally pleasing.

The ambience in the lounge is absolutely inviting. We recommend the rear area of the Senator Lounge, one of the quiet corners where you can work or relax. Incidentally, you have a great view of the apron through the large windows. It was only a five-minute walk to the onward flight to Frankfurt from Gate A 18. And, as already mentioned, it is advisable to try the variety of food - because in the Senator Lounge in Frankfurt you will be faced with another culinary disillusionment.
