First Austrian Airlines Boeing 767 converted
The first Austrian Airlines Boeing 767 with the completely new long-haul cabin has been in service since January 19. After the Boeing 777, which had already entered service ten days earlier with the new equipment, this is now the second long-haul aircraft in the Austrian Airlines fleet to fly with the new cabin. The conversion of the other eight long-haul aircraft will follow successively and should be completed by spring/summer.
The Boeing 767 has the registration OE-LAX (built in 1992 and originally delivered to Lauda Air), is currently in service between Vienna and Dubai and Connoisseur Circle will shortly be testing this flight to take a close look at the new product.
In the new cabin, Economy Class passengers can enjoy a new level of seating comfort. In Business Class, the new seats impress with intuitive operation, a massage function and additional storage space. The seats are equipped with an innovative air cushion system and can be converted into completely flat beds, making them extremely comfortable. Similar to Swiss International Air Lines, but brought up to date. The new cabin of the Boeing 767 offers space for a total of 225 passengers: 199 in Economy Class and 26 in Business Class. The new in-flight entertainment system offers a wide range of current films and provides non-stop in-flight entertainment, whatever you want, whenever you want. As usual, the award-winning DO & CO service with an on-board chef will continue to be available.
The conversion of the AUA fleet began late after a number of delays to obtain the necessary certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
