Thai Airways - soon daily Vienna - Bangkok

The Star Alliance partner has launched the Vienna-Bangkok route four times a week with Boeing 777-300ERs.

Our flight schedule is excellent and ideally coordinated with Thai Airways connections in Bangkok. "We have a very good mix of passengers on this route. So guests from the
Asia/Pacific region and of course also from Austria. In addition, we can imagine coming to Vienna daily much earlier than originally planned," Thai Executive Vice-President Wiwat Piyawiroj told Connoisseur Circle.

The utilization of the Vienna connection is already around 80 percent. "We will be profitable in Vienna much faster than the initial planning. I am very confident that this new route will be a success. People have been waiting for us here," says Piyawiroj.

Julian Jäger, Member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG, explains that over 80,000 passengers traveled from Vienna to Bangkok between January and November 2017. "With the new connection, we are offering 15 weekly frequencies", says Jäger. The four weekly Thai flights with a total of around 1,400 seats also strengthen the Australia-Vienna axis. In addition to Thai
Austrian Airlines flies daily to Bangkok and EVA Air four times a week via Bangkok to Vienna. The Gulf carriers also have a strong offering from Vienna to Bangkok via Dubai and Qatar Airways.
