Singapore Airlines improves Airbus A380 service
Singapore Airlines has been operating the first of five new Airbus A380s since December 18. Naturally with the latest on-board service for all passengers.
The highlight on board the Singapore Airlines A380 are definitely the six First Class suites, each 4.6 square meters in size and very private: 1.75 m high walls protect from prying eyes. The sliding door closes mechanically. Two of these suites can then be converted into a large bedroom with a double bed, as Connoisseur Circle was able to see for itself at Airbus in Toulouse on board the new flagship for the luxury airline from Singapore.
In addition to the five new aircraft, Singapore Airlines will also equip its 14 A380s already in service with new cabin products. The modernization program is scheduled to begin at the end of 2018 and will be carried out by the airline together with Services by Airbus. All 14 aircraft will therefore receive a modernized cabin by 2020.
The new A380 for Singapore Airlines is designed for a total of 471 passengers, who can now enjoy more personal space in all classes. The upper deck is divided into the aforementioned six private suites and a Business Class with 78 seats. On the main deck, a Premium Economy Class with 44 seats has been added to the Economy Class with 343 seats. Ideally, the Premium Economy Class is located at the front of the main deck, giving it a little more exclusivity.
The aircraft features the latest in-flight entertainment systems and comprehensive connectivity at every seat. Singapore Airlines has been operating the A380 on selected routes for ten years. The latest A380 currently flies between Singapore and Sydney.
