Britain's leading airline British Airways is investing 400 million pounds in its long-haul business class "Club World".

Together with the Austrian catering experts Do&Co, a new concept has been created to take British Airways back to the days when it was one of the world's leading airlines - also in terms of service.

Over the next two years, a Business Class will be introduced on European and domestic routes, new lounges, WIFI on board and numerous other improvements on the ground.

"We are investing where our passengers value it most and where we can differentiate ourselves from other airlines," says the charismatic Alex Cruz, British Airways' Chairman and CEO.

Do&Co, which has been working as a gourmet entertainer for British Airways for many years, has made a significant contribution to the development of the new in-flight product. From June, new catering will initially be introduced in the London Heathrow Business Class lounges and the breakfast service will be extended until 11 a.m.

From July, new cushions, sheets, mattress toppers and comforters will be introduced on long-haul aircraft for a better night's sleep.

This will be followed in September by the new restaurant-style Premium Dining service in Club World, a completely improved service product whose innovations and ideas were clearly influenced by Do&Co. The first flights with the new products will be introduced between London Heathrow and New York JFK, before being gradually rolled out across the entire long-haul market by 2018. British Airways is also developing a new seat in Club World, which will be introduced from 2019.

New lounges for First and Business Class guests at London Gatwick are also being completed, as is an £88 million investment in the US lounges, including £52 million at New York JFK in Terminal 7 alone over the next two years. Improvements in European lounges are also on the agenda, as are technical innovations in the background of flight operations. "We have an exciting time ahead of us," says Alex. Passengers' experiences will be followed with interest.
