LOT Polish Airlines Premium Economy Class

700394

Connoisseur Circle will present the Business Class of Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines in one of the next issues. The Premium Economy Class on board the Boeing 787-8 from Warsaw to Tokyo was also tested.

Some Premium Economy Classes are actually reminiscent of a Business Class from the late 80s. Acceptable seat pitch, reasonable backrest adjustment, etc. The seating arrangement in LOT Premium Economy is 2-3-2, seven seats in a row. A total of 21 seats are available. Seat 4A is an absolute insider tip. There is no person in front of you to take up space when adjusting the backrest. You also sit in a protected area. Comfortable cushions and blankets are already provided, as well as a bottle of water and utensils such as socks or sleeping goggles.

Our flight leaves the Polish capital on time. The high quality of the catering (Do&Co Poland) and the huge portions are exceptional, and the good selection of wines is also impressive. In addition to a Western meal, a Japanese variation is also offered. Sparkling wine, two white wines and two red wines are on the menu, as well as wine from Japan.

60 movies are offered on the personal screens, the same offer as in Business Class. Inconveniently, the toilets are located at the back of the cabin. This means a longer walk there, but above all longer waiting times. More and more airlines, even Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific, are adapting to the Premium Economy Class trend. Lufthansa has already done so - whether Austrian Airlines and Swiss will also follow this trend is not yet an issue.

Transferring in Warsaw itself is also recommended, with short distances and a friendly and comfortable terminal. Due to the afternoon departure time from Warsaw, Tokyo is reached at 9 in the morning. That doesn't leave much time to sleep on board. More than two or three hours were not possible. Nevertheless, thanks to the quiet cabin of the aircraft with a good supply of fresh air, we reached the Japanese capital feeling reasonably rested. An extensive breakfast was served before landing.
