There has been much discussion about Lufthansa's new image in recent weeks.

Then as now, the livery of aircraft is a sensitive issue, and not just for travelers. The airline emphasizes that the response to the new livery has been overwhelmingly positive, although some people miss the traditional melon yellow.

Lufthansa presented its new, modernized brand image to customers and employees at two major events at its hubs in Frankfurt and Munich in February. The most visible sign of this change is the new livery of the aircraft. In front of more than 3000 guests in Frankfurt and Munich, Lufthansa ceremoniously presented a Boeing 747-8 and an Airbus A321 in the new livery. Connoisseur Circle was there and has created a picture gallery.

"Lufthansa has changed, is more modern and more successful than ever. From today, this should also be visible on the outside through a new design," says Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

Against the backdrop of digitalization and changing customer requirements, Lufthansa has recognized that the company must modernize itself in order to remain successful in the future. The Group is therefore investing two billion euros a year in new, kerosene-saving aircraft.

After 30 years, Lufthansa's aircraft are gradually being repainted. A process that will take around seven years until all aircraft have received their new livery during scheduled maintenance work.

In future, guests will also encounter the modernized design on the crew's uniform in the form of new - often yellow - accessories in the aircraft cabin. On-board items such as tableware, amenity kits, blankets and pillowcases will feature the new design in future. Around 160 million items will be replaced over the next two years.
